Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) - 8 Weeks
All of us get our share of negative thoughts and emotions that can turn into negative patterns that impact our lives. If we’re not able to handle these patterns, they can affect our thinking, our motivation to act, and more often, our capacity to eat and sleep well. That is why training the mind to handle them eventually leads to a better handle on our life—and our work.
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) is an evidence-based programme originally designed to help prevent the relapse of chronic depression. It was developed by Mark Williams, Zindel Segal and John Teasdale based on the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) programme by Jon Kabat-Zinn. The UK’s National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) recommends MBCT as it has shown to reduce the risk of depression relapse by up to 43% (Mark et al., 2014) and is as good as anti-depressant drugs. However, if you are currently experiencing distress, anxiety or other clinical issues, it is best to seek professional help.
We deliver MBCT as a class for everyone, in a non-clinical context. Our intention is to teach practical tools to help with everyday stress and disruptive emotions.
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) - 8 Weeks
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction is arguably the most highly respected evidence-based mindfulness programme in the world. Developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn Ph. D, a molecular biologist from MIT, MBSR was intended to train people to use mindfulness to cope with stress, pain and illness.
The latest research on MBSR supports its effectiveness for stress reduction, symptom regulation and emotional balance. With a multitude of mindfulness programmes being based on this programme, MBSR gets associated with most of the benefits researched and empirically validated by scientists internationally.
MBSR is a programme for people who want to improve their health and well-being, and the general quality of their life.
Mindfulness for Leaders
Leaders with positive emotional style drive better organisational performance. Since we all lead in a certain capacity, serving internal and/or external clients, it is crucial that we develop a high level of self-awareness, self-regulation and resonance with other people. It is our prime intention at The Happy Warrior to develop emotionally intelligent leaders and organisations using Mindfulness as the main tool.
Mindfulness for Leaders is an experiential course developed for management and leadership development. Inspired by the works of Jim Collins, Phil Jackson, Daniel Goleman, Annie McKie, Richard Boyatzis, Matthew Lieberman, Jon Kabat-Zinn, Mark Williams and many others, this bespoke programme grows emotional intelligence competencies that are vital to leadership.
This course contains certain elements from the programmes Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy. We work with the client organisation and use organisational development methodology to tailor fit the design for maximum organisational impact. Normally, this is delivered with follow up session(s) and appropriate evaluation such as psychometric tools, 360 feedback, and other agreed instruments.

Mindfulness: Finding Peace in a Frantic World - 8 Weeks
The 8-week Mindfulness course: Finding Peace in a Frantic World is a programme designed by Mark Williams and Danny Penman. Based on Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), this programme involves shorter meditation practices and other exercises compared to MBCT and MBSR.
The programme works well for everyone who is not depressed but is constantly challenged by the exponential demands work and life present in this modern world.
Executive Mindfulness Coaching (1-to-1)
This is an 8-week programme for clients who prefer one-to-one engagement in a coaching format.
Executive Mindfulness Coaching may also be tailor-fitted according to the learning needs analysis for leadership development. Participants of Mindfulness for Leaders may be given one-to-one sessions to supplement learning in a group context.
The theme of “reconnect, de-clutter and refresh” is carried out in all our Mindfulness Retreats. We run retreats from 1 to 3 days in order to let our clients experience first hand the value of reconnecting with the body, allowing the experience to be what it actually is and not as we wish them to be and treating thoughts as mental events.
For corporate teams, this provides an excellent atmosphere of non-judgment, empathy and openness--ingredients that lead to a sense of psychological safety necessary for optimal collective intelligence and team cohesion.
Mindfulness in the Workplace Bootcamp - 4 Weeks
This programme gives clients a substantial taste of mindfulness in 4 weeks. It is designed to reduce stress and optimise personal effectiveness at work.
It centres on the mindfulness themes of gaining back the control from the automatic pilot by reconnecting with the body; creativity and freshness by encountering situations and things with curiosity; and stress reduction by living skilfully the current reality instead of fearing the future or ruminating over the past.
Introduction to Mindfulness (Taster Session)
This 1- to 2-hour mindfulness class introduces the client to the concept of mindfulness as well as the science behind it. It involves a practical demonstration of how the mind works as regards attention and awareness. More importantly, it also contains one or two mindfulness practices that give a glimpse of how mindfulness can be useful to individuals and organisations.
